Intrepid GoodGymmers Aidan and Steve opted to volunteer for a mission during the regular Monday night Islington group run. We said hi to run leader Paul and the group runners before setting off through the sunny streets of Islington and after a liiiiitle issue with directions (definitely my fault - S) we were greeted by the lovely and lively Mrs S.

All this sunshine had caused her garden to become quickly overgrown. It was clear that she missed being able to access the patio and spend time sitting outside on the garden furniture, which was slowly being kidnapped by ivy. And though we wouldn't be able to finish the job in one quick evening visit, we did want to at least clear the way for her to enjoy that area.

Mrs S provided us with some shears, loppers and choppers, and before we knew it we were sweeping and tidying up around a huge industrial sack full of what had been cleared. Lots of bugs and woodlice weren't so pleased about us moving them on though. An offer of a cup of tea politely declined, we were back on our way to meet the rest of the GoodGym Islington group for a stretch and a chat.
