Knock knock... Who's there? Ten terrific trailblazers. Dashing miles, to shift and lift piles, of debris including, doors which needed moving!
Oh what a glorious thing it is when we host guests from our partner boroughs and this week it was a pleasure to welcome one such treasure, in the form of Meg from Islington!
Joining Meg for a first week slice of the west London action was Saorla, who joined the ranks after.... receiving a leaflet to hand on the streets of Willesden!!! YYAAAYYYY Which by the way, Mouse pointed out, takes our success rate of recruiting.... Drum roll please...... ONE in two years!!! Woo Hoo!!
Also in the ranks this eve and freshly adorned in his brand new GG red tee was Utman. Now a two week veteran and one of.... DA DA DAAAAA not one, not two but three men in the crew!!
Joining Utman was Pete and Joe and making up the girls squad - Mouse, Sabina, Liz and Elisa who arrived jumping at the back gates of the Old Police Station task, itching to get in and join the fun that she heard echoing down the street!!
Ahhh yes the task!! Only weeks away now from the official launch date Colin our host needed all hands on deck to clear and shift some of the last remaining unsightly stacks of building site debris. This included moving the mega heavy sacks from A to B and then chucking out some gigantic effort to get numerous planks of wood and seven abandoned doors to the storage shed!!
Well, as we aDOOR Colin so much, how could we refuse? So we got to work quick smart and finished the task in 20mins flat!! Oh yes!!
After our tasking and with a glorious 30mins to spare it was time to get stuck into some fitness fun and what better way to achieve this than the 100 Burpee challenge!! Hurrahhhhh they cried... Oh no wait sorry they just cried. Whoops
But despite the protest, these warriors from Willesden smashed the challenge regardless, with Elisa coming in first at a staggering 6mins and 44 seconds!! Wow Weeeee. Also a special shout out must go to Joe, who went to the end on his first ever try and got to the magic 100 in under 10mins!!! Again... Amazing stuff!!!
So you'd think they'd have had enough after that.... BUT ohhhhhh no not these guys... You wanna run some hills now? I asked HELLLLL YEHHHH they replied. I think maybe the burpees could have gone to their heads, because off they pegged and spent the last of the session speeding up inclines like there was no tomorrow!!
A cruisey run back got us cooled down for finish and a well deserved stretch finished the night in a calm and happy haze. Chatting all things Halloween and maybe dressing up for some trickery and Goodgym treats in just a few weeks too!!
But for this eve we'll come to a close, another start to the week I suppose. But boy oh boy, Monday would be not well spent, without finishing the day with the awesome Goodgym Brent.
See you next time!!!
