Getting stuck in, in the mud
20 GoodGymers made their way to help the Crouch End Open Space in Islington.

20 GoodGym runners met at the Crouch End Open Space to help the local CREOS and TCV volunteers maintain this jewel of North London.
Three things were in abundant supply today: sun, mud and woodchips. All you need for a stellar community mission, and we got a whole lot of bang for our good deed buck today.
On a day that saw Danny and Sally celebrate their 200th good deed milestones (amazing work both!) we got involved in a range of activities. Many of the pathways were very muddy so much of our work had the objective of making these easier for park users to traverse.
In some sections we scraped the top layer of mud and leaves off, exposing the aggregate beneath. In others we piled on woodchip which we ferried back and forth by the wheelbarrow load from a big heap near one of the park entrances. Elsewhere we simply shovelled off the mud.
There was also planting going on, and additional scraping and leveling work to make steps on the pathway easier to navigate. And potentially even more that escaped the attention of the humble report writer!
All in all a great day under the sun in North London, getting the good done.
