Getting absolutely trenched in the rain
1 GoodGymer made their way to help their local community in Lewisham.

I was the only GoodGymer to turn up to the family day at Beecroft Primary school this morning... I think the rain probably put everyone else off! Without the context of a whole GoodGym team, I was asked “Which one is yours?” a fair few times, and had to handle a lot of confusion every time I answered “I don’t have children, I’m just here for the digging...”!
Never mind, I soon got stuck in with the kids and their parents, digging long, shallow trenches to plant the small hedging plants that had been donated to the school by The Woodland Trust. The idea being to plant them alongside the edge of the playground to act as a buffer to the high pollution levels from the adjacent road.
It was very hard work, but strangely satisfying, especially the very long trench that I dug solo. Even more worth it for the big slab of chocolate cake I was rewarded with afterwards!

Wow Emma, amazing work and in pretty awful weather! Solo trench digging is impressive.
