Wild garlic, worms & weeding
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Newham.
- Saturday, 26th of January 2019
Kirsty and I met up this morning to tackle Mr B's front garden, which had become a bit overgrown, particularly with wild garlic (we thought - based on the smell and appearance, although neither of us would claim to be plant identification specialists!) We were met and assisted with tools by Mr B's lovely neighbour, who has been looking out for him since moving in next door a few years ago. We focused on clearing the path to the front door to make access safer, encountering a lot of worms along the way, they weren't best pleased to be evicted. Apparently garlic is supposed to deter worms, but didn't seem to be the case here!
Having cleared the path, we made some inroads into the rest of the garden, leaving it looking quite a bit tidier. As always, it was great to chat as we weeded and also have a natter with Mr B's neighbour over a coffee. I'm sure he must appreciate having someone so kind and helpful nearby.

Great work guys
Looks like you did a great job - love wild garlic but hadn't known about the worm thing. Great stuff!
