It's been a while since I visited Ms M and Mrs J, but this week it was back to basics!
Through the powers of Oxford Together, Mrs J has been paired with a community hero, who lives just down the road, and she has been helping Mrs J with her shopping over the past month. Due to some issues with dog food supply and some household jobs needing fulfilling I popped back into visit Mrs. J this week with shopping for both four and two legged friend! It was lovely to spend some 'socially distanced' time in the great outdoors while the weather was so beautiful, but the gloves and mask made it for very very sweaty work (and really does make you feel for the Drs and Nurses in their plastic boiler suits in COVID resus!) - This time I was also able to say hello to Mrs. J's little dog, who I hadn't been able to greet for a few months now! (a very Ruff time!!)
All jobs completed, I headed over to see Ms. M, who was in for a delivery of disinfectant and tinned goods. We also set up her weighing scales for visually impaired (which read out your weight to you) and in equal measures of enjoyment and frustration figured out how to use them. While the first half-hour entailed listening to the electronic voice repetitively squawking 'there's been an error' every time Ms. M stood on the scales....(somewhat akin to a Sat-Nav continually saying...make a U turn when possible) we go there in the end, and a lot of laughter was involved! I will catch up with Ms. M on Monday as part of our coaching session to see how she's getting on!
