8 runners ran to the Velodrome and did a couple of running intervals, a time trial and some strength work

A wholesome full body conditioning session was this week's medicine for the mind, body and soul. We had a late cancellation from our task, so were unable to do good externally, hence we focused on ourselves. We worked our deep roaring cardio vascular engine, our plethora of core muscles and explosive lower body power. Calories were akin to trees getting torched in a forest fire, they stood no chance.

Starting off with a gentle jog to the Velodrome. We had a time trial around the roughly 400m loop. It was fast, it was furious...my camera stood no chance of keeping up (see photographic evidence). Then down to the benches for some core stability. Tenacious efforts in the cold wintry air. We nipped back up to our (roughly) 400m loop and did a double loop, with an emphasis on running the second lap faster than the first (negative splitting). Everyone nailed this, I was impressed and a little surprised...as it's not that easy!

We ran back to the Aquatics centre for some wonderful plyometric fun, they may well be some sore legs in East London right now, however, there will also be some fitter, meaner and leaner people.

Keep up the good fight.
