For goodness' rake!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Sunday, 9th of May 2021
Two of us arrived at the lovely Ms D's house on a warm and sunny May afternoon. Goodgym had already visited two weeks prior, but the verdant garden need a bit more tlc in order to get it looking ship shape!
We had a briefing on which plants she wanted us to tackle, then we got started right away. After wheeling round the brown garden waste bin and locating suitable tools in the shed, Marta got cracking removing the green alkanet and brambles from the border while I tackled a very overgrown sage bush. Once those were looking neat and tidy we each tackled one of the large berberis bushes (Goodgym is so great for learning new plant names!!)
There was just enough time to give the garden a good rake and then put all of the cuttings into the bin, which by this point was almost overflowing! Overall it was a very enjoyable afternoon spent gardening in the sunshine, and Ms D was really thankful and appreciative of our efforts!
