5 Goodgymers ran 5km to helping Cecil Sharp House
While apparently most of the world were going home or something the Folk-tantastic Five formed to do some good - Katie, CJ, Rosie, John and PB.
In the news this week:
- Ivo Gormley, the founder of GG, was on the Let's Get Running podcast this week - check it out.
- There is a GG Long Run next Sunday up in Finsbury Park - full details here.
After warming up and hearing England was 1-0 we headed along our normal route to Cecil Sharp House to the home of English Folk Music.
Unfortunately Susannah was ill this week so couldn't meet us, but we knew the deal. John and Rosie got to work brushing away the weeds inbetween the pavement cracks. Meanwhile Katie and CJ swept around the pavements outlining the lawn.
I found Hugo's shoe
After finding a wedding invite and a shoe we pieced together the weekend's fun! Continuing with our work John and Rosie cleared the flower beds of weeds and Katie and CJ tidied along the entrance pathway to the grounds.
The whole time we could hear the wonderful folk music playing from the building, after a while we realised they had started playing "It's coming home" folk style. Nice!
Over 30 minutes we made a big impact and collected together 3 bags of debris, weeds and leaves.
On the way home we took a slightly longer route via Primrose Hill - corrrr what a sight. The streets were weirdly quiet with that ball foot thing going on...
Thanks for coming guys, sign up for next week here.
