Nine excited Hackney GoodGymers embarked on a mission of Christmas dinner proportions! To deliver St Lukes Church's festive events flyer to every home in Hackney (well almost).

After newbie trainer (me) attempted (and failed) to increase the pace of the welcome talk this perfectly formed GoodGym squad dove into a powerful dynamic warm up. Getting our hearts racing with heel flicks and our legs pulsating with a series of walking lunges and side squats. We were all primed and ready for our stair adventure to play Elf's of Hackney and spread some festive cheer in the tallest tower blocks in town. We set about our 2k run to St Lukes to meet Keli zooming past the birth place of Tesco on Well Street with the chatter abuzz with this weeks Triple T.

We arrived to meet Keli and we knew we were in for an action packed task as not only was Keli dressed ready for action but also the height and number of surrounding tower blocks let us know we were about to get a serious stair challenge. We tore off into the night armed with hundreds of flyers attacking the tallest and biggest and baddest tower block first lead by Andreana who stormed to top floor delivering flyers at a rapid pace. In pairs we made short work of the delivering to every flat while getting spectacular views of the East London skyline (insert picture, oh wait so mesmerised I didn't take one oops). We delivered flyers with military precision bounding up and down 41 floors worth of stairs over a very impressive 9 tower blocks in 40 minutes for action packed productive action really helping St Luke's reach out so many families, Great work team!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸΏ

After a frantic final surge it was time to head home leaving a very greatful Keli we took a slightly more scenic 3k route back to base with Chris doing a sterling job back marking. The stealth squad with undercover numbers stored in their memory bank played a game of secret surging. Delayed, around the outside, down the inside even a little detour surge was seen in this no holes barred secret surge extravaganza! Solveig surge was so ferrous that it took everyone a little time to recover! We did this by an impromptu mini leg blast to make sure we had not forgotten our perfect lunge techniques. Once together we had a final push for home with a little Fartlek explosion up Victoria Park road to test everyone's top end speed. Once back to base we stretched out before the Hackney GoodGym elves disappeared like magic into the winter night.

The Triple T top nominees this week for best festive period food were Christmas pudding, mince pies, the amazing Panettone with everything, marzipan and Walnuts opened with a hammer no less. πŸ°πŸŒπŸπŸ’πŸ«

Next week (our final session of the year) is at Wilton Estate please sign up here we will be back working the GoodGym magic on Tuesday the 5th of January.
