Flour power
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Newham.
- Saturday, 28th of March 2020
I kicked off my otherwise quiet weekend with a trip to nearby Canning Town to assist Mr L with some shopping essentials as he is stuck indoors and otherwise unable to get his hands on what he needs to get by for now.
After a short while he produced a fine shopping list along with a few helpful suggestions as to where I could procure his required groceries . I headed off to a couple of nearby establishments, scouring the shelves for whatever I could lay my hands on from his list with a pleasing (and surprising) level of success.
Alas, it seems flour is in very high demand and I could only get one of the three different types of flours he wanted but hopefully the abundance of bananas I provided him with will help soften the blow. He happened to mention that he tucks into a banana every day - a wise habit that I should look to adopt myself actually!
Mr L seemed most pleased with his goods, and his profuse thanks motivated my extended run home via a couple of local parks.
