Fire & Rain
6 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.
- Saturday, 4th of May 2019
Mr H unfortunately is having a spell in hospital so our darling Dan and nurse Debbie felt it was a good opportunity to give his garden a drastic makeover so when he gets back home he feels a bit better and his little dog can enjoy roaming around safely in the sunshine. The start point looked reminiscent of Rapunsel's garden, a solid fortress of brambles and big sticks. Dan, Gill and I spent ages picking away at it and untangling it whilst James sawed the biggest logs so they could be burned. Andrew masterminded a magnificent fire which he let Gill light and we were on our merry way. Rachel joined us after Yoga and an exercise class so kudos for that! After a couple of hours lugging and burning we rewarded ourselves with a picnic and let the freshly washed pooch out for a play. Still some more to do but the garden looks noticeably improved.
