Another sunny shopping drop this week for Ms M and Mrs J!
Since the lock-down Ms M has been stuck inside, unable to visit the theatre, enjoy her yoga classes or break up her week with a trip to the 'big' shops for her favorite meals. She's certainly not one to complain, especially with how limited her diet has to be for health reasons, however, when having our usual coach-catch up this week (on the phone!) she mentioned how lovely it would be to tuck into that classic Friday treat, some Fish and Chips. Problem being, the local takeaway is shut, and her carers only have a limited time to prep her meal every evening so oven cooked meals are a rarity (all hail the microwave!).
Enter opportunity to do a little extra good when dropping off the other bits and bobs requested (and I suppose a little extra get fit!) - I was hooked - A brief google search for microwaveable (quick!), freezable (long life!), plain cod fillets (for those troublesome tums') found myself digging around in the depths of Sainsburys freezer aisle the next day when making our family/community weekly shop. Not wanting to get stuck between a rock and a hard plaice, with caution Sainsbury's stock might not be up to scale, I made no promises, but was certainly not to let the challenge get the batter of me! After much more time in the freezer aisle than healthy, we struck gold! I cod'nt believe it!
The smile on Ms M's face was picture perfect when handing over the items today, all ready for her Friday fish supper at 11AM! It really is the small things that can make the difference at times like these!
Mrs J was also in for a big neighborhood drop, with ready meals providing the answer to COVID exaggerated anxiety really affecting her appetite and ability to cook. Usually, one to be conjuring up inventive meals with whatever's about, and only a handful of ready meals available in the local shop, Mrs J was delighted to add some variety back to her diet, and took great pleasure jotting down her order from the almost limitless selection we could source from the main store! Her wonderful little dog too received treats, with rich tea biscuits added to the list to compliment a lovely afternoon cuppa for both four and two-legged friends alike!
If you've made it this far, hopefully, the fintastic puns have been Kraken you up. While I cod go on, I should stop before they become eely bad!
Hope you all had wonderfully sunny, socially distanced VE day celebrations, and are enjoying the perks of shopping for others, including passing off those 3 packs of chocolates, doughnuts, and icecreams as one for each person you're shopping for to the onlooking cashier (!!) - stay safe and well & keep up the great work!

I LOVE this run report! Excellent punning, but more importantly, amazing work going above and beyond to make Mrs J and Mrs M feel happier.
