Fill two needs with one deed
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Tuesday, 12th of May 2020
During the sunny part of the afternoon, I went to St Pancras International, where I was to collect a prescription for Mr S. It was nice being in this part of London after 7 weeks of absence (especially because it reminded me of the friendly GoodGym Camden group runs I used to attend occasionally).
At the prescription's collection point, it turned out that both Mr S and Mrs S had their medication ready for collection. I called the family to confirm it was okay to collect both. They gladly accepted.
Mrs S was really grateful for getting help with their prescription collection. She mentioned they needed help with their weekly shopping, too, so I advised her to call AgeUk, who had requested today's mission. Mrs S and I had a long chat and it was nice to hear her reminisce about her time as a nurse. Coincidentally, it turned out that she used to work in an area I visit quite often for work myself. At the end of our conversation, I wished Mrs S a pleasant afternoon and said goodbye.
P. S. Inspired by the GoodGym Barnet safari challenge, I also took a few snaps at the London Zoo. 🐪🦍 To take part, visit: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/ggb-safari-running
