10 GoodGymmers came together on this late-November night to spread the festive cheer around Aldgate in the form of leaflets! It was all in aid of the volunteer-led organisation, Aldgate Community Events who are hosting Aldgate's very first Lantern Parade and Winter Fete on Friday 1st December from 4pm at St Botolph's without Aldgate. The Fête is free and open to everyone; and will include food, drink, music and activities; mulled wine, minces pies, and local organisations - a wonderful thing to celebrate the season with the local community! We were pleased to welcome GoodGym first timer Alice, who was one of many who managed to distribute all of their leaflets to cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars in the area. One group toured Brick Lane and Commercial Road, whilst the other managed to reach all the way down to Whitechapel station to spread the news, before we all congregated back at our start point. The excellent flyering effort was rounded off with a quick "meet and retreat" run around a square in Bethnal Green before we returned to base. Well done to all who came, the task owner will be thrilled to hear how many leaflets we gave out, and hopefully the fête will be a great success! Thanks for coming and see you next week for another festive task!
