Fern but Stair
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Wednesday, 1st of August 2018
On the night that GoodGym celebrated having reached the amazing milestone of 100,000 good deeds, Steve and I met in Kentish Town to add another couple to that tally.
Our task was to trim back the fern growing up the side of Ms. J’s house, several weeks with no rain meant that when Ms. J returned from her holiday the fern was looking a little worse for wear and decidedly dead in places. Having been provided with a ladder, some secateurs and a couple of glasses of orange juice we got to work.
We took it in turns to go up the ladder, all the while chatting to Ms J about all kinds of things - what we get up to with GoodGym, what we do for a day job, the size of American food portions and how Steve has a much better Northern accent than me.
With the dead bits cut away, and some of the healthy green bits redistributed to fill in the gaps, we gave the ladder a quick vacuum and headed back to the Crick to meet the Camden group run.
