9 runners ran 5km to litter pick on a rainy Wednesday
We firstly congratulated Russell on starting his new job, which he was not particularly excited about. Well done on surviving your first day anyway Russell! We also greeted Doug, who Charlotte had encouraged to come along for his first run.
The plans were outlined; Joseph said that he had both positive and negative emotions about running with the litter picker, and imagined he was going jousting.
We ran up to North Avenue, where we met Catherine, who was on her usual top comedic form for the entire run. Jenny encouraged us to run along Eastern Avenue, where we completed the circle of litter.
We managed to collect four big bags of litter, and everyone's spirits remained high throughout. We finished with a couple of Avenue sprints. Shout out to Rachel for her super speeds running down 4th and 2nd Avenues, and to Adam, our own Edward Picker-hands, for carrying back more than his share of the pickers from the Avenues.
Next week we are off to Broomfield Allotments with Rich.
Well done everyone, and see you all soon.
Laurie
