11 runners ran 2.5k to a community garden, weeded and washed windows, then ran back
A scorching day it was yesterday, so much so that I even went for a swim. Must've been the first time since, well, I was in the womb. Luckily it cooled off a bit for our East London troopers come the evening.
Joined by first timers Feda and Jen. Do follow them on the awesome and ever developing GG site. They just made it in time for our warm up and random question section of the run. We discussed people's last ever meal and what super power you would have. Some exquisite answers from "stopping stupidity" to "jumping infinitely high" to "understanding any language". Bravo!
Two groups bolted off down the Romford rd to Durning Hall. There were several jobs to keep people busy once there, a few different sections to weed, lots of sweeping and some window washing. Our 11 person strong team wasted no time and got down to it. With my cacophonous yelling - reminding them of the time left. I reckon we made a big difference in our 20 minute slot, the task manager - Jannatha, was super appreciative!
Once all done, , Jannatha, kindly gave us some refreshing beverages to cool down and hydrate, a well earned drink indeed. A few of the guys had the energy to hammer a pyramid session on the way back. 30secs, 20secs, 10secs...a beautiful site as they bombed it down the road, getting a cracking post-task workout in.
I salute you ALL. Bloomin' good work
