Lousie, Liz and I (all the L's! ) headed to East End Women's foodbank for our weekly mission with this great organisation! As it was Liz's first time doing this task, Louise (a task regular) gave her a quick summary of what we would be doing for the morning! Liz mentioned that it was really nice to see the link between this task and a task she had previously done with FareShare.
Once the list of deliveries was updated we got to work organising the food parcels for collection. This week the food parcels were in a room slightly further away than usual, so we got lots of extra steps in! When the delivery drivers arrived we helped load the parcels into their cars.
In between the arrival of delivery drivers we packed 45 ambiant food bags and some toiletery/sanitary bags. We also restocked and organised the packing room once we had finished packing the bags!
Towards the end of the task, 3 delivery drivers arrived at once so we really upped the pace and managed to pack around 60 bags into their cars in 10 minutes!!
We all really enjoyed this brilliant task with East End Women's foodbank!
