Natalie and Rachel joined other volunteers at Foodcycle Sheffield to serve meals to guests. It is open to all, helping to address food poverty, food waste and loneliness.
Natalie is an old hand, but it was my first time. We signed up to 'host', which involves making drinks, serving food, washing up and generally making guests feel welcome. Best of all, you get fed too!
If you are interested in volunteering, check out the website. There's a few videos to watch and then you can find cooking and hosting opportunities in your local area. Sheffield has a Wednesday lunchtime meal in Broomhall and Tuesday evening meal in Parson's Cross.
