It was lovely to welcome Kat and Nick back to group runs tonight, just in time for both of them to sport the 50 rosette to celebrate their half century of good deeds. Excellent work, next stop the 100 wings!!
There were a great variety of bikes racked up in front of the church once we'd all arrived.
Our job tonight was to clear the paved area at the back of the church, including reclaiming some of the paving from the grass and dirt. Kat and Nick dismantled a metal shelving unit which had about 400 bolts holding it together!
There was lots of lifting and shifting of bags of earth, metal, and rubbish plus many wheelbarrows of dirt. We created lots of dust but also made the place look a lot clearer, ready for a new seating area.
Our efforts were rewarded with drinks and snacks including home made cake and rolls! Amazing service, I'm sure we'll be back again.
