A solo mission today to help the council with their pledge to plant a tree for every citizen.
I took a nice stroll up to Hearsall Common where i was greeted by a few Cov council park rangers and a team of volunteers.
One of the park rangers advised us of the most efficient way of digging a hole to pop the baby tree into it. We were planting native species such as Hazel, Birch, Scott’s pine, Field maple and Crab apple.
Some planting had already been started on hearsall Common so we were just told to look for gaps and stick a tree in it, so thats what we did!
Really enjoyable task and amazing to think that this could be the start of a new woodland area 💚
