Curtainly helped out in an illuminating manner
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Newham.
- Tuesday, 23rd of June 2020
When I signed up for this mission last week little did I realise how glorious it would be. I very much enjoyed jogging over to Ms P's house a few miles away in the midday sunshine ☀️
As warned she threw the keys out the window to me and kept well away as she gave me the instructions on the curtain hanging task to be tackled. It seemed someone from GoodGym had been recently to put up half the curtains and now the remainder was ready to be hanged so it didn't take long at all for me to get that sorted.
She also had a lightbulb that needed replacing in the kitchen which also was accomplished in next to no time. So in adjacent rooms I was providing light whilst simultaneously making it easier to block out the light next door, which seemed a nice balance.
As someone that is partial to an unconventionally-timed nap, I could very much relate to Ms P's desire for curtains in her south facing bedroom to facilitate spontaneous daytime napping, and I very much hope she takes advantage of it.
After a quick chat to check that she was doing as well as can be expected, and had everything she needed, I jogged on back home.
