Course? Check ✅
2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Ealing.
- Sunday, 25th of August 2024
- Led by Sevan
Steph and Sevan both found themselves at Pitshanger Junior parkrun this morning as they were free before a later community mission to create an new path at Pear Tree Park.
All of the regular run directors were away, so Jo, a local parkrun ambassador (not our Joanna, though), was the stand in RD for the morning. Numbers were lower than usual as it's a bank holiday weekend in the middle of the school holidays, so it was great to see and cheer the 42 children who completed the 2km course.
Sevan was timekeeping and had also been asked to do the course check. He reported back that:
- ✅ The course was still there
- ✅ There were no abandoned mattresses or Lime bikes on the path
- ❌ The course surface was in good condition
As with GoodGym's last visit, the big crater was still there and there were a few puddles left over from yesterday's downpours. As Steph was marshalling, he offered to cover the crater and stop children from vanishing into it. Only one child failed to complete the course and that was because they were pooped after the first lap, so Steph did a grand job! 👍
We'll be back at Pitshanger Junior parkrun for our next scheduled session on the 15th of September. It would be great to see you next time and you can sign up here
