On Tuesday evening, it was just Ana and I at the Christchurch Community Gardens in Battersea. Sadly, several other GoodGymmers had pulled out (maybe they were still getting over the football, or maybe they were worried the weather on Monday would repeat itself?). Whatever the excuse, there were still two of us, so four hands for doing good!
We met the local church warden who showed us several jobs he would love us to help out with in the future, however, today, our job was to start attacking the hugeeeeeee pile of, what can only be described as ‘old tree’. Basically it was a mountain of trees and twigs and cuttings, and a few browning pines from the festive season.
Ana and I got stuck in as much as we could with the slightly questionable secateurs provided, and managed six or so big black sacks and a good little catch up before calling it a night. Not a bad effort for the two of us, but still a lot of wood to be disposed of. So hopefully next time there will be a bigger gang to attack and sack.
