1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Hounslow.
- Saturday, 22nd of July 2023
Started the Saturday morning with shopping for Mr. K. After reaching Mr.K's home we had a bit of chit-chat about the ashes and Mr.K was worried that the match will be affected by the weather. That's when I realized I haven't checked the weather before heading off this morning.
The shopping list is a combination of the usual items from my previous visits except a newspaper. We also agreed on what needs to be dropped if the shopping exceeds the £30 limit as I did a rough calculation of the price of the items.
Took me 20 minutes to get all the items and then I went to the self-checkout and started scanning the items. As I was looking for the slot to enter the cash, I noticed that the checkout machine is card-only. The shop assistant helped me by storing the scanned items in the current checkout machine and downloading the list to a cash machine. I didn't know such a feature existed. I paid with cash at another machine and collected my food.
When I was leaving the Security chased me down and asked me to show the receipt as he thought I left without paying. Then I explained what has happened and showed him the receipt.
Mr.K was waiting near the door when I reached the flat. I couldn't buy the specific newspaper as I couldn't find it in the kiosk. Then I helped Mr.K put the items on his shelf and fridge and took a tube from Chiswick Park to meet Steph at Sudbury Hill for the Grove Farm Conservation Day
