Cell Out 🦠
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.

I joined Linda today as she was back to help Ms. L in Belsize Park.
She’d been to visit with Emily on a previous task to help with some documentation, sorting what to shred, and what to keep. https://www.goodgym.org/reports/shred-it-where-shred-it-s-due Today the ‘keep’ pile needed to make it’s way into the small filing cabinet. We settled round it as a trio and sorted the documents from various government and financial institutions into their correct alphabetised sections. For any that didn’t have a home Linda was able to carefully make labels and create new sections.
We learned that Ms. L had previously been involved in storing stem cells, and that Linda was a donor herself and coincidentally had recently been matched. Stem cells can help people with leukaemia who can’t otherwise undergo chemotherapy, and for whom a donor cannot be matched from their family. Nowadays they can be elegantly harvested from your blood, so perhaps you might consider joining her on the donor register... https://www.bbmr.co.uk/donating-stem-cells/
Since there were quite a few empty files, folders and notepads in the box, what had looked like a daunting task was done carefully but in a brief timeframe allowing us to bid farewell to Ms L for the day. 👋
Great work and good luck with the harvesting Linda!!🚜🩸👏

Great report and strong sorting skills Danny! For anyone interested, DKMS and Anthony Nolan are also good ways to get on the register - you never know, you could save a stranger’s life!
