Cash in the Attic
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Saturday, 30th of May 2020
Today, two GoodGym runners used their daily exercise to go and help Mrs C. Mrs C has been asked to remove items from her attic, and is being supported in arranging a council collection for the items.
GoodGym had been asked if a couple of runners could support her in getting the items down from the attic, then down a couple of flights of stairs ready for their collection on Monday. Since we've been spending lockdown together (and don't need to worry about keeping our distance from each other - ideal for awkward lifting!), Abi and I signed up to do this.
We saw the list of what needed taking down - 20 very full bin bags, a mattress and a table - and we set about the task. Abi hopped into the attic and started passing things down - she was also ecstatic to find ONE WHOLE EURO up there!
Before long, all the items were on the top floor and we we gradually brought them down and left them out front. It was a challenge doing so in a way which wouldn't disturb the neighbours or limit anyone's access to anything, but we eventually managed. After that, we bade adieu to Mrs C, hopped on our bikes, and headed home. Mission accomplished!
P.S. Credit for dope title goes to Abi
