Burr-illiant day for burrd stinging (and weeding)
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 8th of June 2019
Rebecca and I met on a sunny morning to do some weeding for Ms D. We started with a nice chat about the exciting tools she'd bought to help (including a weed burner!?) When we got to it though, we just needed to use our bare hands to pull up the weeds that had overgrown her garden. Fortunately, they were the satisfying kind of weeds and we did as much as we could in the time and garden waste bin space available, whilst attempting to avoid getting stung by the nettles. Hopefully some more nice GG runners will be able to finish the job another time. After another nice chat with Ms D, including seeing her lovely cushion with photos of all her family members, and photos of her father in the war, we went our separate ways, very pleased to have met each other.
