32 beautiful GoodGymers ran between 4-5km to help plant bulbs, clear up and litter pick!

Wow, that was amazing to lead my first GoodGym Camden as Trainer, I am so happy to have such a reliable, lovely and genuine bunch of people to share my Wednesday evenings with.

So yes the report, okay got it...... We collected together at Somers Town Community Centre, welcoming regulars and new members alike along to the session, we heard some great news about what's coming up, including:

We ran to a GoodGym Camden favourite, Castlehaven, which is a small but high profile, vibrant community association that continues to develop and respond to the needs of local residents. Once there we met Fred, who explained our tasks; we had leaf clearing, rearranging a storage yard, litter picking, generally clearing up and planting flower bulbs all over the parks.

Here are some quotes from the group leaders (some have have been unofficially created):

> Steve Coman - The thing is I know everything about gardening so planting bulbs is easy

> Tom Benson - Picking up ladders and racing horses is my fave!

> Jess Cowan - I love doing a monthly 10k race and, oh yeah, leaves can go in the bin - booom!

> Andrew Cornick - Oh it's lovely to be at Camden GoodGym, I'll come back

> Pritesh Mistry - What I really like is planting bulbs and eating vegetables - best things

> Richard Foster - I am planning to bring my son Otis to the next GoodGym Camden he will fit in well

Wow, nice quotes guys, thanks for contributing....

So after we made Castlehaven Community Gardens look even more stunning in the short term by tidying up and in the long term by planting bulbs we thought it was a good idea to run.... hmmmmmm... yeah!

We split into to two groups with Tom Benson leading the horses group (GoodGymers I mean) with a quick paced run along the canal and a lap of Granary Square AND Paul Bown (me - yes!) led a more gentle run along the canal in time for a group picture - boom!

Thank you to everyone for coming to GoodGym Camden on a cold January night, it's amazing what 32 people can do with 25 minutes physical work - excellent stuff!

See you next week - https://www.goodgym.org/group_runs/lift-and-shift-for-community-enterprise-13af82ba-b56a-4ca1-b284-7295ded71795

Happy Running!!
