Brushing Up on Our Skills
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the Mencap - Chelmsford in Chelmsford.

Me and Joel both ran to the Mencap centre to give a wall a fresh lick of paint. Karen gave us our paintbrushes and rollers and opened a lovely mauve tin of paint to go on the wall. They have had new flooring put in so we had to be extra careful not to spill anything but on to work we went. Joel grabbed the roller and got busy laying the central areas whilst I tried to cut in at the bottom, sides and at the top. There was a bit of a tussle over the step ladder as we both needed it to reach the higher areas but working as a team we got it done. We were probably there a bit longer than we expected to be and Joel might have been home a bit late for his dinner (sorry Rachel!!) But, we did a great job, the wall looks lovely and certainly brighter and bolder than the old beige/yellow colour. Hopefully the one coat will be enough but if another’s needed Mencap know who to call!!
We’ll be back next week to help get all their larger furniture out of storage and back to the centre which you can find out more about here.
