On a hot sticky June evening we met ready to jog up to Broomfield allotments. A place where we haven’t been in a while but everyone who has been before loved it and the questions were asked if Tim would be there to greet us with a smile and a story and some refreshments.
Before we set off we did a head count and asked if there was any news. WELL… after the announcement of Rachel and Joel’s engagement last week ,Rachel topped it by being the proud owner of her 100 good deeds winged top. Congratulations Rachel, well done on reaching that milestone.
We set off and soon got into our strides and chat and before we knew it we had arrived with Tim there to greet us with a smile and a story. He had 2 tasks for us this evening, the first was to cut back the grass in the drainage gully and the other was to turn over some earth and clear some grass from around some raspberry bushes.
Joel, Vickyand Fay started trimming the grass on the gully, while Laurie, Joe and James turned the earth over and David and Rachel clear the grass from around the raspberries. A great job by everyone on such a hot summer evening and by the time we had finished and collected the tools Tim was on hand with some well-earned refreshments… BLISS
A slightly longer route home to make it up to 5km and talk turned to the soon departure of Vicky who is moving “up north” for work. I sadly won’t be there next Wednesday for your last Chelmsford Goodgym run but I have promised to run with you at Parkrun. But from me, its sad to see you go but good luck for the future ( and please pop back every now and then).
That’s it for this week, Next Wednesday Gerry will be leading you on some litter picking around Melbourne
