Bit of sawing and it came up a tree-t!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.
- Saturday, 11th of January 2020
Andy, Jenni and Jonathon met up at Mr R's house to lend a hand clearing his heavily overgrown front garden of weeds, fallen tree branches and brambles.
Following Mr R's instruction that the gardening tools were in the garden shed, we went to retrieve them - only to find the shed entirely collapsed and impossible to open! Still, we managed to dig out enough tools to get the job done, just leaving behind a rake we suspected had become structural...
The next hour was a hive of activity - sawing (with a very rusty saw), chopping (with some very blunt choppers), and ripping branches in half (with Jenni's hands). Working our way through the undergrowth of the front garden, we made quick work of the mat of brambles, branches and weeds, leaving a much tidier area and a big pile of clippings in the corner.
Saying our goodbyes to Mr R, we admired the progress made and headed off to enjoy the rest of the day.
