Bit by bit
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Saturday, 18th of March 2023
Louise and I met to try to help Ms L fix her curtain rail which had fallen down.
Ms L had borrowed what she thought was a small electric drill from a friend, to help make a guide hole for the new screws. However, after an attempt to buy a thinner bit and consulting the man at the hardware shop, we discovered that this was more of an electric screwdriver type device, and was not suitable for making holes.
We chatted with Ms L about alternative solutions such as boring a hole manually, but agreed that it would be better to source a real drill to complete this task next time. We finished by using some polyfilla to fill in the current holes, to hopefully be ready for volunteers next time.
