I am not sure if I am depressed or elated at this task. This is something like the fourth time I have been back to the Anfield Village Green to help out the wonderful James Coates from Alley Angels. Each time I go and the site is a terrible mess but at the end of it I left feeling uplifted as I survey a lovely green area. This time I cleared four large bin liners of rubbish and at least it will look pristine for the next few days. It will now enable James to go in and mow the grass.

The idea is to eventually turn it into a proper village green where it will become an outdoor performance space and generally nice area to go and relax. James has taken on the responsibility of the space from the council and it is a pleasure to be able to support him in this project.

Ultimately elation wins out as I know that we need to keep going and eventually people will stop dropping litter.
