Bedding Down
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Wednesday, 30th of September 2020
I met Leanne on a dark and rainy evening but we were warmly greeted by Mrs J's husband, Mr A. He showed us the "double decker" type bed - one single bed in a frame sat on top of an identical one. He explained that he needed one bed to be moved downstairs along with a mattress and bedding. We were relieved to find that the top bed simply lifted off so no tools were required (although I had come equipped with two different types of screwdriver in case some dismantling was needed). We soon got the bed frame and its slats moved into the downstairs room and there was plenty of space once a small table had been moved to one side. The mattress was easily moved after that (fortunately the staircase wasn't narrow) and we had an easy path through to the downstairs room. We put some bedding on the bed and our job was complete! Mr A was very happy that we had completed the move so easily and quickly, despite not being a couple of "big strong guys".
