Barts Health National Vaccine Programme
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the Barts Volunteers in Tower Hamlets.
- Saturday, 20th of February 2021
- Led by Laura Williams
After successfully completing the online training and attending a brief induction session, Isabelle and I co-ordinated our shifts for a Tower Hamlets goodgym special, contributing to the national effort to roll out the COVID-19 vaccinations.
We both carried out various roles where we had the great opportunity to chat to a variety of different members of the community - including those from the 60-65, the 65-70 age groups, NHS & ambulance staff, others emergency services and a few teachers, and also some very friendly volunteers. It was a very busy morning but the perfect way to start the weekend.
We will both be returning next week and weekend to continue to help with the amazing contribution of Barts Health. With the target of 15 million people vaccinated by the end of the weekend, it certainly feels like the country is taking a big step forward towards a normal summer now (fingers crossed!).
We would both fully recommend signing up to this mission, an amazing cause and something I will remember being part of for a long time. Sign up here.
