Back to front
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Kingston upon Thames.
- Saturday, 3rd of September 2022
Mr T has a number of health issues and was unable to deal with the accumulation of large items of rubbish in his back garden, which needed to be moved to the front garden for the council to come and collect. He needed help.
Petra and JP were there to supply it. We arrived, assessed the scale of the challenge and got stuck in. Pretty quickly we were making good progress, shifting old bed frames and mattresses. The junk being moved included a chest freezer, an old door, a lot of pieces of wood and even a broken pogo stick. There were some icky moments such as dealing with a butt full of muck and water, but we dealt with everything and were soon sweeping the patio clear.
Mr T was enormously grateful to us for clearing his garden, where the rubbish had been causing an eyesore for a very long time. We were delighted to have been able to make such a difference to his daily life and headed off to enjoy our Saturdays with smiles on our faces.
