A lovely Sunday afternoon with Richard to give Mr M some more help in his garden. Since the last visit it was evident that Mr M had managed to do a bit more cutting back of the brambles in his garden which was so heartening to see.

It was too wet to cut the grass today but we’d already got a Plan B up our sleeves and Mr M agreed with us when we suggested making a start in tackling the sea of brambles in his backyard around the greenhouse.

We discovered that Mr M is a writer and has had three shortish novels published and he is currently working on a longer piece of auto fiction (which is apparently not a story about cars!), so whilst we toiled with shears and secateurs, he was adding some more words to his latest work and delighted in telling us just how the plot had moved on when bringing out cups of tea for us, halfway through the task.

By the end of our mission we had all made progress and Mr M was particularly pleased with Richard’s incredible bramble bashing, completely clearing one side of the greenhouse and leaving it nice and tidy.

There’s more to do so hopefully we’ll be able to return and find out how the story ends! 📖🤗
