An Olympian effort!

There was an official GoodGym Newcastle junior parkrun mission taking place today so since I had already signed up to volunteer at a junior parkrun closer to home I decided to self-log a mission. There was an Olympic theme at today’s Saltwell Junior parkrun, building the excitement to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games next month. Fellow Newcastle GoodGymer and Saltwell junior parkrun event director Charlotte had the amazing experience of being a torch bearer at the 2012 Olympics and there was huge excitement today when she brought her actual torch! Lots of children had photos taken with the torch and I’m sure it inspired them to put in an Olympic effort to their running, walking and skipping around the course. Their dedication is always inspiring and makes my job as a marshal an absolute pleasure! See you soon Saltwell juniors!
