Six of us showed up in Acton Park this morning to help make the junior parkrun happen despite the heavy rain. Some of us wore flashy rain jackets, others shoes or sholaces to make up for the deficit of sunshine. We got absolutely soaked while waiting for the event to start.
We weren't sure about how many kids would show up to run in such difficult conditions. We were wondering whether there could be more volunteers (we had a full roster!) than runners. The children who could have made it would definitely get the VIP experience!
The kids did not disappoint - there were 18 little runners full of enthusiasm and dedication! We were impressed by their energy and water-resistance. The GoodGym team is looking forward to volunteering at another junior parkrun next week.
