6 GoodGymers helped Hackney Wick community garden dig, water and carry by the river.
Great to be back!! First Real Life Hackney task since March, so Lovely to see you all!!
Main task tonight was to dig a big hole fill it with compost then cover it so that the soil was lush for 2021 growing. we were a little skepticle of how this would work but we were very much proved wrong. An epic digging battle was won and although not the 6 feet deep as asked for the compost fitted snuggly underneath. with some very enthusiastic stamping down the flower bed was in prime condition for the next growing season.
The recent rain meant the watering was a relatively swift task as well as fetching and carrying over some over sized water butts ready to catch the next downpour!
thank you to the squad for coming along and great to see you!!
Look out for Fridays watering at Hackney Downs station!!
Have a great day
