A 'skip' to the 'tree-side'
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Wildcat Wilderness in Lewisham.

This was a special day...the first community mission for Good Gym Lewisham in several months, and at our favourite place - The Wildcat Wilderness!
6 volunteers arrived at this amazing community garden on a Saturday morning, ready to help rid the site of the decades of rubbish that has been found as the wilderness has slowly been cleared (by hand) over the last few months. Around half of the site has been cleared and made accessible to the community, and the other half (around 3 more acres) will slowly be cleared by hand over the coming months and years, all by volunteers.
Our task was to take, by wheelbarrow, the accumulated rubbish that has been gathered at the gate to the wilderness, down a long narrow path to the street. Adhering to the guidelines, runners bought their own gloves and stuck to the 2 metre distancing rule.
Feeling a bit 'rusty', we separated metal from other items (old carpet, never-ending glass shards, unidentifiable melted plastic, discarded clothes), and we chatted and caught up on each others' news as we worked and soon the site was cleared and the skip was full to the brim! As Emma remarked, it was like the Good Gym Fairies had been and worked their magic once again.
It was good to be back!
