A Rug’s Life
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lambeth.
- Monday, 3rd of August 2020
Sarah and I met up on Monday evening to help Ms G move her rug in her living room. She needed it moving so that it doesn’t overlap her armchair, keeping the area around where she usually sits stable and level. With the help of two members of the occupational therapy team to help move Ms G, we started moving furniture around the room to move as much of it off the rug as possible. We quickly realised the safest and fastest way to move the rug from under Ms G’s armchair would be to lift the corner of her chair and take the rug out from underneath rather than to move Ms G totally, since she is not able to walk or stand easily herself. With a bit of to and fro we succeeded in moving the rug just under a metre across the room and put the furniture back where it was originally.

Well done both! Sounds like this wasn't the easiest task and that you made a big effort to keep Ms G as comfortable as possible throughout. Thanks for that.
A difficult task, but well done for handling it so well Charlotte and Sarah.
