A Rake from the (new)Norm
3 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Lewisham.
- Saturday, 6th of March 2021
- Led by Adele Prince
With Spring well-coiled and ready to breath new life into the Hither Green station embankment, 3 GoodGymers were lucky enough to join Anne-Marie with giving the meadow section a stern raking .
After previous works to tame and keep the area free of litter (often GoodGym-supported), invasive grass has taken root during recent months. The task in hand was to remove the stronger clumps and scrape other unwanted green covering to leave bare soil.
Vic, Claudia and Oli set about keeping warm on a cold morning by picking spaced sections of the meadow and making with the raking!
2 hours later, piles were neatened and the canvas was blanked, ready for its next stage - the arrival in a few weeks of a fresh load of natural compost.
Next stop: heading for the spreading :oD
