A Lidl rain must fall...
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Saturday, 27th of June 2020
Ms G was super organised - she'd even drawn a small map for me to find her local Lidl - and so armed with bags, list, cash and a page from the evening standard showing the deals of the week, I set off hoping to avoid the worst of the showers - my first Lidl shop during lockdown.
Ms G knows her Lidl well, and had said that if a certain product wasn't available, then not to worry about substitutes - it took a while to get familiar with the layout (fortunately there were no arrows on the floor as I think I'd have messed up any one way system completely), but was able to fill the trolley with nearly all the items - someone somewhere though is hoarding mushroom soup...
As I set off back home, following the breadcrumbs I'd left on the way over, it started to pour and in spite of trying to dodge from shelter to scaffolding, I was somewhat damp by the time I reached the front door - thankfully the shopping had largely survived intact, and Ms G was very appreciative of my Saturday morning efforts in our typically erratic British summer.
