A higher standard of queueing...
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Friday, 17th of April 2020
At the risk of sounding like a reality TV judge, it was hard to find fault with any part of Mrs M's mission planning or instructions today, which made this particular task both entertaining and enjoyable in equal measure...even the well ordered queuing outside Waitrose was a pleasant experience.
Thankfully Mrs M knew exactly what she needed for her weekly shop, described each item in great detail over the phone to me and (helpfully) was able to provide the prices too - for an amateur shopper like myself this was operations at a whole new level.
Once waved by the smiling security guard into the well spaced supermarket, I was able to find all the items that Mrs M requested pretty quickly, (except for the little gem lettuce - curly would have to be today's substitute) and after a quick further visit to Boots nearby to pick up one further item she'd asked for, it was a quick call to Mrs M to forewarn her I was on my way.
Upon arrival at her front door, she'd placed the cheque outside in an envelope with a kind note thanking me for my assistance and we did a blind swap. Be assured Mrs M, the pleasure on this particular mission was all mine...I even learned what Kefir is, so proving that every day really is a school day, even in lockdown.
