A bolt from the skew
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.

Today I met up with Jack for a mission in Hackney for Ms G (and for Jack's very first ever mission (woot woot! 😄🎉)).
Ms G has been sleeping on her sofa for around a year as her decreasing mobility has largely limited her to her living room. To try and make her living arrangements more comfortable, she bought a bed and had a friend assemble it. Unfortunately, the friend couldn't force the last bolt in! GoodGym were asked if we could help with this.
Deceptively simple sounding missions like these can often be the most complicated. So it almost proved today, as the bar into which the bolt needed to be screwed had to be gently coaxed into position by a combination of extreme force, a few internal swear words, and some strategic loosening of other, neighbouring bolts in order so stop it being so askew. Thankfully at least one of these things worked, and it wasn't long before Jack was checking the tightness of all of the bolts on the bed while I "supervised" 😎
To make sure that the bed was stable, Ms G requested that both Jack and I simultaneously sit on the bed and bounce. This probably sounds dodgier than it was. I can confirm that all clothes remained on, and there were definitely no cameras involved 😄👍🏻
Job done, we chatted with Ms G for a few minutes before making our goodbyes to scoff some miniature Colin the caterpillar cakes and to pity the misguided folks who prefer slathering their food with condiments rather than accenting it with a dip.
It was fun working with you, Jack: catch you again! 😄
