2 hot 2 handle (Pt 2)
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Thursday, 25th of June 2020
Ms C came out of a long hospital stay yesterday and needed some specific groceries from Sainsburys.
She lives right round the corner from me, so I did a mission sandwich with another task. Managed to find all items except 3, so rang Ms C up to chat about substitutions. She didn’t mind clear honey instead of set, or chicken & bacon pasta instead of chicken & bacon pie, but sounded genuinely upset that I couldn’t find Robinson’s Creations Zesty Orange & Mango squash.
The other mission turned out to be more arduous than expected and delayed me a little for Ms C, but on my way back I popped into a few cornershops to check for the squash. Success at a costcutters!
Ms C was thankful and pleased I found the squash. She also wanted help taking her rubbish to the bins since her condition makes taking even a few steps difficult. We had a lovely chat where it was revealed she’s named after two cars, and she gave me advice to travel lots while young. Might be difficult these days! I hope she can feel better soon.
