Hackney School of Food
The Hackney School of Food was established in March 2020 by the LEAP Federation of Schools (Gayhurst Community School, Kingsmead Primary and Mandeville Primary) in partnership with the charity Chefs in Schools. It was created by transforming a derelict and unused former caretaker’s house into a professional kitchen and garden. Central to our mission is the belief that sharing great food unites families, communities, and society as a whole. We facilitate food education through high-quality training, resources and fresh produce that reflects our ‘seed to spoon’ ethos. We aim to inspire healthy lifestyles, great nutrition, enjoyment and inclusivity.

Hackney School of Food need help with their garden which is overwhelming them, particularly in need of weeding. The garden is where many of the fresh ingredients are grown that they use in lessons and also is an urban oasis.

Please bring gardening gloves if you have them.

Options are available to run between 2km and 4km in total

Remember that we run to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you can't run for more than 15mins without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
